【Day8】

今日からまたCabraでの生活に戻りました。

ESLの先生による英語の授業からスタートしました。時制の文法の授業を英語で説明してくれました。ペアワークやグループワーク等活動も取り入れながら授業を進めてくれているので生徒達は自然に英語を使いながら英語を学び、身につけているようでした。

Recessの後は、LASER cut and engrave projectの授業でした。木工加工の授業で自分だけのオリジナルスマホスタンドを作るというものです。レーザーを使ってCabraの文字とカンガルーの絵柄を描いてもらいそれぞれ素敵なものを作っていました。

CabraのSenior達はこれらの設備を使って、日本では大学生が行うような大掛かりな卒業制作をしているようでした。自分の興味があることや将来の目標に向き合う姿はとても立派で、川南生にとってとても良い刺激になっていると思います。

その後は昼食を食べて、9年生（日本の中学校3年生）の日本語のクラスに参加させてもらいました。Cabra生から日本語で自己紹介をしてもらったり、日本とオーストラリアそれぞれの文化を紹介しあったり、英語と日本語を駆使してお互いに一生懸命交流しようとしている姿が印象的でした。「しょうがない」や「先輩後輩関係」などを英語で説明するとどうなるか…ぜひチャレンジしてみてください。

交流も進み、週末に向けて盛り上がっていっています。

明日も授業は続きます。

【Day7】

今日は貸切バスに乗ってExcursion（遠足）に行きました。

まず向かったのはUrimbirra Wildlife Parkという動物園です。カンガルーはもちろんウォンバットやエミューなど多くのオーストラリアらしい動物がお出迎えしてくれました。

この動物園はコアラに触れる数少ない動物園の1つで貴重な体験をすることができました。コアラの毛は思っていたよりも柔らかいようで生徒達は驚いていました。

次にVictor Harborに行きました。動物園から10分くらいのところにあるAdelaideの人達の別荘があるような自然豊かな場所です。海辺にお洒落なお店が並んでいるような地域で、綺麗な海やその雰囲気に生徒達は感動していました。

およそ1キロに及ぶ桟橋を通って、granite island（グラナイト島）に行きました。

 山の上から綺麗な景色を見たり海辺のベンチで昼食を食べたり、それぞれが充実した時間を楽しんでいたようです。

明日からの3日間はCabraで授業を受けることになります。

高めた英語力を駆使してより充実したレッスンになることを期待しています。

I went to two universities this weekend.On Saturday, I went to Flinders University and ate fish and chips. Fish and chips is very yummy but it is too oily for me.

On Sunday, I went to Adelaide University, the city, and Glenelg Beach. Adelaide University is big. I watched the sunset at Glenelg Beach.It is very beautiful. I took a lot of photos.It was fun!

Saturday, we watched Netball match and then, went to a Henley beach. We went to a pub for dinner. I had never been there before, so it was very refreshing.

Sunday, we saw many animals in the park. Iheld a Koala too. It became a special memory.

I went to a cafe called Beerenberg.I drank matcha latte.I fell in love at first sight with the strawberry dolls they were selling there, they were so cute.I went to a German village called Hahndorf.There were many handmade goods stores. All the items in the stores were cute and I was excited.

In the afternoon, we watched the football game which my boddy's friend played. It was like a mixture of soccer and rugby. It was exacting!! And then we three went to the sea. The wind had so strong!! In the evening, we had a party for boddy's sister birthday with relatives. There were so many people and I was gaven a lecture on how to grill meat by grandpa at the BBQ.

I had a great time and felt happy!!!!!!

I went to the zoo on Saturday. There were many birds living in Australia. In addition, it was very fun to see Tora and Panda. At night, we all went bowling. On Sunday, I went to a place where I could touch kangaroos and wallabies. I was able to see koalas and dingos. He bought me a pretzel on the way home. At night, I played a rhythm game with my buddy.

On Saturday, we went to see the nature in Adelaide and I saw 3 wild koalas and 3 wild deer. After that, we went to the Chocolate Factory and cheese factory. After paying, my host mother gave me some chocolates as a gift. Everyone I met was very kind and we talked a lot like friends. At home, we enjoyed playing card games.

On Saturday, I went to the cheese and chocolate factory, zoo, and Hahndorf. After going to the big market on Sunday, I was taken to the shopping mall. At night, I was put on a boat at Buddy's father's workplace and piloted it.

Today, I walked on the roof of a stadium, which was really fun.In the afternoon, I visited a chocolate factory and bought many souvenirs.

I had pizza with my family for dinner and watched Mission: Impossible afterwards.I was happy to talk a lot with my host family.

I went to a challenge room with my buddy and friends and played various games. We also went bowling.Three families had dinner together. I chose chicken.I was able to fully enjoy my holiday.

【Day5-6】No.1

週末はホストファミリーと過ごしました。

Saturday

I walked on the roof of the stadium with my buddy and friends.Then we went to a chocolate factory and a strawberry farm.

Sunday

I enjoyed the challenge room with three Kawan students and three Cabra students. We also enjoyed bowling afterwards.Then we enjoyed dinner with the whole family.

I went to Rundle Mall, Glenelg Beach, and the German Village in Adelaide. Ilearned about Australian teenagers, took photo booth pictures, and ate gelato and Italian food. We spoke English the whole time and had a lot of fun.

We went to shopping mall.There were a lot of stores,so I was so excited.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed playing billiards and dart.It was ditticult but it was a lot of fun!Also We cooked honey joys.We could make them delicious.After that, We went to supermarket.This was very big.At night, we ate pizza made by ourselfs.These were very delicious.I had great times.

Today, we went to the church in the morning. After that, we went to the beach.It was very windy and cold. And we played volleyball.It was very excited.

Finally, we went to the observation deck.The view of Adelaide was very beautiful.This was one of the most wonderful experiences!

On Saturday morning,I saw beautiful scenery and churches, had a hot chocolate, and went shopping with my host mother. In the evening, I went to a football game with my buddy and his friends. I was really happy because our team won.

On Sunday morning, I had a hot chocolate, went to a shopping mall and walked around the city with my buddy, his sister, and her boyfriend. In the afternoon, I went to a challenge room with my friend, my buddy, and his friends. We played many games and had dinner. It was a lot of fun.

It was the first time to ice skart for me,so 1 was excited very much. after that my host family and I went to the restaurant near the beach. The beach was so beautiful and meal was petty good.

After breakfast, we went to West Beach to help with the barbecue on Saturday.Look-ee and I grilled meat and ate it. After that,we went to Somerton Beach.We enjoyed surfing!

Next day, we went to Monarto Safari Park.We saw lions, jaguars,elephants and kangaroos. I was very cold because the wind was strong, but it was fun.

First, I went to Buddy's grandparents' house. They have a big farm and we got to meet a lot of animals. Next, I went to Haigh's Chocolate. There were a lot of interesting chocolates and it was fun. Finally, I went to the HAHNDORF. There were a lot of traditional shops and it was interesting.

I went to the zoo on Saturday. I fed emus, kangaroos, and wallabies, and I also held a koala. It was rainy but I had a lot of fun because they were so cute. At night, I made Japanese curry for my host family for dinner.I also went shopping on Sunday.There were many cute shops. I was able to buy some souvenir for my family.

【Day4】

今日はCity Excursion（市内遠足）に行きました。

学校に集合し、公共のバスに乗って市街地へ移動しました。

外国で公共交通機関を使って移動するというのは多くの人にとって貴重な経験になったと思います。

市街地について最初にSouth Australia Museumへ行きました。

オーストラリアの動物や歴史、生態系や先住民関係の史料など多くのものが展示されていました。

それぞれ興味のある展示を中心にしっかり見学していました。

その後、Rundle Mallという街の中心地を散策しました。

グループに分かれての行動となり、昼食を食べたりお土産を買ったり各グループで楽しんでいるようでした。

日本でお馴染みのお店から初めて見るお店まで様々で、目に映る１つひとつのものが新鮮で興味深かったようです。

その後、Adelaide Central Marketに行きました。

雨が降っていたので、多くの人がマーケットを訪れていてとても繁盛していました。

ウインドウショッピングを楽しんだり飲み物を飲んだり、それぞれの方法で楽しんでいました。

中には「頑張ってチャレンジする！」とお気に入りの洋書見つけて購入している人もいました。

非日常的な空間の中で多くの刺激を得ることができた充実した1日となりました。

週末はそれぞれホストファミリーと過ごすこととなります。

滞在期間中の最初で最後の貴重な休日となりますので、それぞれが充実した時間を過ごせることを期待しています。

【Day3】 

ホームステイ初日を経験した後、期待と緊張が入り混じる中での初登校となりました。

長いようであっという間の学校生活の始まりです。 

ホームステイ先のbuddyと一緒の学校に通うことができるのも姉妹校提携をしている本校とCabra Dominican Collegeの特別な関係があるからこそです。

学校生活はESL(English as a second language)の授業から始まりました。

英語を母語としない人が英語を身につけるための授業のことで、現地在住の先生による本校生徒のための特別なレッスンです。

初日となる今日は自己紹介などの簡単なものから始まり、グループの一体感を高めるための活動や日本文化を紹介するようなもの、そして合唱まで行う素敵な時間となりました。

その後は、year8（日本でいう中学校2年生）の中で日本語を勉強している生徒たちが授業に参加してくれました。

少人数のグループに分かれ、広い校舎内を案内してくれました。

天気も良く、楽しそうな笑い声があちこちから聞こえてきました。

次はPE（体育）の授業です。

4種類の活動をSenior（日本でいう高校3年生）が進行してくれました。

表情や活動、ジェスチャーなど意思疎通を図る手段は言語だけではないということを実感することができた時間となったと思います。

国を超えた鬼ごっこは特に盛り上がっている 様子でした。

最後はcookingの授業です。

今回はこの10年間では初めてとなるAnzac Biscuits（アンザッククッキー）を作りました。

ここでもSenior達が授業に参加してくれ、川南生とグループを作り調理に取り組んでいました。

昨年度本校を訪れたCabra生が積極的に参加してくれている姿を見ることもでき、改めてこのプログラムの素晴らしさを実感する1日となりました。

明日は電車に乗って市内遠足に向かう予定です。

＜Exchange Program＞

本校は南オーストラリア州のアデレード市にあるCabra Dominican Collegeと25年以上の間、業者を間に通さない特別な形の姉妹校提携をしており、隔年で生徒の訪問と受け入れを行っています。

今年度は7月22日（火）から8月4日（月）までの14日間、本校生徒がオーストラリアを訪れます。

 交流の様子の一部をホームページでお伝えします。

 【Day1-2】

羽田空港に集合し、カンタス航空の飛行機に乗ってオーストラリアへ。

保護者の方や先生方など多くの方に見送られながらの出発となりました。

飛行機に乗るのも初めてという生徒もいて最初は緊張が見られましたが、無事に出国審査を終え元気に出発しました。

10時間飛行機に乗りシドニー空港へ到着。

国内線に乗り継ぎをして姉妹校のあるアデレード空港へ。

Cabra Dominican Collegeへ到着しました。

川南生の名前とCabra生の名前が呼ばれ、お世話になるbuddyやhost familyと対面しました。

2年生の中には昨年度日本で受け入れをしたCabra生との再会を果たした生徒もいて、喜びと感動溢れる対面式となりました。

これから約2週間充実した時間を過ごせるように頑張りましょう。

７月９日（水）３年次選択科目「音楽総合研究」では１学期に取り組んだ合唱の発表を行いました。他の芸術科目「美術総合研究」と「実用の書」の生徒を音楽室に招待し、Official髭男dismの「Chessboard」を合唱を披露しました。

各パートのメロディーがバラバラに動く部分が多く、また転調があったり、アカペラの部分があったりと練習では苦戦もしましたが、本番では一人一人が伸び伸びと、心と息を合わせて演奏することができました。

　令和７年７月２日（水）、PTA・後援会主催による大学視察会が実施されました。今回は東京都西部地区にある２つの大学、法政大学多摩キャンパスと中央大学多摩キャンパスを訪問しました。保護者等の参加は28名、3名の教員で現地を訪問しました。

　最初の法政大学では職員の方から大学全体および多摩キャンパスについての説明を受け、大学の特色や教育方針について理解を深めました。その後、７つのグループに分かれ、各グループに現役学生が１名ずつ付き、キャンパス内を案内していただきました。学生の皆さんは自身の所属学部だけでなく、他学部の情報も網羅しており、非常に分かりやすく丁寧な説明をしていただきました。さらに、大学選びのポイントや受験体験など、個人的なエピソードも交えて話してくださり、大変参考になりました。広大なキャンパスは東京ドーム約18個分の広さがあり、校内には移動用のバスも整備されていました。昼食には学食を利用し、学生気分を味わいながらおいしい食事をいただきました。

　午後は中央大学多摩キャンパスへ移動しました。こちらでも８名の現役学生が各グループに１名付き、キャンパス内を巡りながら、設置されている文学部・商学部・経済学部などの紹介をしていただきました。こちらも広大な敷地を有し、東京ディズニーランドと同じ広さであると説明を受けました。図書館は３階建てで自習スペースも充実しており、多くの学生が利用している様子が印象的でした。キャンパスは多摩モノレール「中央大学・明星大学駅」からすぐの場所にあり、アクセスの良さも魅力の一つです。

　今回の視察会では、実際の大学の様子を見ること、現役学生からの話を聞くことができるなど行かなくてはわからない情報が多々あり、参加者にとって非常に有意義な機会となりました。準備にご尽力いただきましたPTA進路担当の皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。また、お忙しいところご参加いただきました皆様もありがとうございました。今回お時間を作っていただいた法政大学、中央大学の方々にも感謝申し上げます。今年度参加できなかった方々も、ぜひ次年度の参加をご検討ください。
